Language of Clay
Shannon Courtenay's Studio
Tucked beneath the mountains of Cardrona Valley, Shannon Courtenay's ceramic studio feels deeply connected to its surroundings. It is here, in Aotearoa's South Island, that Shannon creates ceramics that celebrate simplicity, texture, and the beauty of thoughtful craftsmanship
Beyond the studio, Shannon also hosts seasonal workshops and intimate gatherings that invite people to reconnect with creativity, food, and the land.
Many of these experiences take place at Kind Farm, an animal sanctuary where community, sustainability, and care naturally intertwine.
These gatherings are an extension of her artistic philosophy creating spaces where slowing down becomes part of the experience.
Through clay, Shannon offers a gentle invitation to pause, to gather, and to reconnect—with ourselves, with the land, and with the simple beauty of things made with care.
